The Layer includes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, an open standard that lets AI assistants connect securely to external systems. Point Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or any other MCP-capable assistant at our server and it works directly against live data in your tenant.

Instead of clicking through screens to assemble an answer, you ask a question. Your assistant pulls together the customer record, the open cases, the services and the revenue, and gives you the answer in one go.

Some things you can ask for:

• A full 360 overview of a customer, including services, products and monthly recurring revenue
• A health verdict on an account, with the reasoning behind it
• Which customers are showing risk signals, and which services expire in the next 90 days
• Your top customers by MRR, or a side-by-side comparison of two accounts
• Open cases, open quotations and linked opportunities across the business

It writes as well as reads. Your assistant can raise a case, add a note, log a phone call or move an opportunity to the next stage, always asking you to approve the action first.

Access runs through OAuth sign-in with your own Layer credentials, so your existing permissions apply. Your assistant can only see and do what you can, and you can revoke the connection at any time.
